| RULES ~ Only 1 student identity per member is allowed! Any person who submits more than one Sorting Hat questionnaire in an attempt to be in more than 1 house without first asking the Headmistress or one of the Deputies for permission will face suspension or possible expulsion from Hogwarts for all the characters they created. ~ It is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED that you make up your own original character name rather than using a character name from the "Harry Potter" series! Most "HP" series names have already been taken anyway, & when you have more than 1 person with the same name it gets confusing. Using part of an "HP" series name is permitted (like "Harry" as your first name or "Potter" as your last name). ~ Make sure when you're answering questions on the Sorting Hat questionnaire that you are answering as your character would answer, not as you would answer in REAL LIFE! If you answer as "yourself" your character may get sorted into a house that does not suit them well. ~ Make sure the e-owl address (otherwise known as an e-mail address) being submitted is valid & can accept replies from the Sorting Hat. Many times the addresses submitted are invalid or have security settings that do not allow replies from the Sorting Hat. (Replies will be from the address "alba_dumbledore@ameritech.net".) ~ After you fill out the Sorting Hat questionnaire, click "Sort Me!" & verify your answers on the confirmation page that you will be taken to. IF YOU SKIP THIS STEP YOUR SORTING HAT QUESTIONAIRE WILL NOT BE DELIVERED! Once you are certain your answers are correct, click "Continue" at the bottom of the page. From there you will be taken to our Website Introductions page where you should read both the Orientation & Website Information articles found there as you await your reply from the Sorting Hat. ~ Please allow up to 1 week maximum to receive your reply. All sorting requests are answered by hand, not automatically; therefore, please be patient while you wait for your house placement! If 1 week has passed & you have checked your SPAM or BULK e-mail folders for misguided owls but still have not gotten your reply, you can contact the Headmistress at alba_dumbledore@ameritech.net. ~ Please read your Sorting Reply thoroughly! There is a lot of pertanent information in the letter you are sent other than simple house placement so it is very important that you read the entire letter. If you still have questions after you have read your letter, contact the Headmistress or your Head of House for further information. ~ The Common Room password given to you in your Sorting Reply is to be kept secret! Please do not share the password with others (even if the're your housemate). If you are asked for your CR password, direct the person asking you to your Head of House or the Headmistress. If you forget your password, you can contact your Head of House, one of your house prefects, or the Headmistress for further assistance. ~ Check out the Virtual Tour located in the Entrance Hall if you have questions! Our site members have put some very helpful tutorials together for your convenience so that any questions you may have can be answered. It is always helpful to check those out before you ask the Headmistress or your Head of House about how things work or where you can find things. If you have a question not addressed in the Virtual Tour, feel free to contact your Head of House or the Headmistress with your question. ~ Please remember that all comments posted on this site or in any of our chat rooms are to be rated “G” ONLY! We have witches & wizards here that range in age from 10 to 110 of all races & religions.
